Teenage pregnancy remains one of the leading causes of school dropout among adolescent girls in vulnerable communities. Many young mothers face stigma, limited economic opportunities, poor access to healthcare, and reduced chances of completing their education. At the same time, many adolescents lack accurate information and support regarding reproductive health, leaving them vulnerable to early pregnancy and the associated challenges.
The ‘Teen Mothers Support and Reproductive Health’ Intervention aims to promote both prevention and response. The program provides adolescents with education on reproductive health, giving them the knowledge and life skills to make informed decisions about their health and future. The intervention also supports teenage mothers by helping them reintegrate into education, gain access to healthcare, receive psychosocial support, and strengthen their economic resilience.
Through mentoring sessions, life skills training, reproductive health education, referrals to care facilities, and family support interventions, the program helps adolescent girls protect themselves against early pregnancy while supporting young mothers to rebuild their lives and pursue their goals.
